On-Call CMO is the fractional CMO practice Tom Gaydos founded in January 2025 to give startups and growth-stage technology companies executive marketing leadership, with the research, creative and operations to back it up.
Tom Gaydos
Tom has spent his career building marketing functions from the first hire with founders and their teams. That’s what most founders need from a CMO.
He was the eighth employee and foundational marketer at Evolve IP, now Xtium, where he also worked on fundraising and board management as the company grew from zero to $100 million in six years. He went on to Bluewolf, the Salesforce consultancy IBM acquired, as Marketing Practice Lead, and then spent nearly eight years as Chief Marketing Officer of McFadyen Digital, the digital commerce agency, through consecutive Inc. 5000 honors.
He is one of the six co-founders of Founders Alley, the Philadelphia startup community, and he serves as Chief Marketing Officer of AI Assist. On-Call Studios, the product side of the practice, builds Storm OS, VectorCanvas and PlinkExchange.
